Bordner Roofing in Kansas City needed to streamline their whole sales process, so they purchased SalesLogix CRM. 

Before SLX, Bordner did things by hand.  They printed forms and manually wrote in the lead information, manually calculated estimates, contracts were typed using a typewriter, which gave the company limited visibility of the information. 

With SLX, Bordner set up workflow as well as document automation to help capture information about the customer and better their grasp on the business. 

As leads come in via phone, they are captured in SalesLogix and set to the appropriate salespersons dashboard for him/her to review. 

A rep will meet with a lead, and after talking with them and figuring out their needs, the Rep can then go to out to their car and create a bid.  Within SalesLogix they bring together all of the materials, time, and labor needed to finish the project.  Then they can easily print the bid right then and there for the lead to keep.  Before SalesLogix they would have to call back or go into the office to get the bid, and then either mail it or bring it back to the lead.

From there the bid becomes a contract in SLX.  The manager approves it and it is moved to “job” status.  From there they assign a crew to work the job, develop a list of materials for the job that is sent to the vendors, and create an invoice for the total within SLX.   

Not only does Bordner track each step of a lead in SLX, they also track the salespeople’s timesheets. 

They have 20 salespeople in the field. 

Bordner rolled out SLX first to the Roofing Department and due to the success, has expanded it into Windows/Siding, Stucco, Gutter, New Construction, Reroofing & Residing, and the Repairs Department. 

 SalesLogix has given Bordner business intelligence that it was lacking pre-SLX.
